I used to have MSE installed for a month or two since it came out, but for some reason it wasn’t working very well for me, it didn’t block very much. I switched to Avast antivirus and used it ever since.

    Is it really good now?

    Thanks for sharing Thomas!

    1. It is great and in Windows 8 it is built in under the name Windows Defender (MSE). Great move by Microsoft I think.

If you are using Microsoft Security Essentials antiviru software then you no need to worry about any thing. Microsoft Security Essentials will give you 100% security from viruses.

    1. Hi Abdul
Nothing is 100% sure, when it comes to viruses, but Microsofts Security Essentials is pretty good and it is free 🙂

Yes, I am using it from last few years. I also used Kaspersky. But it is paid and costly. So I leave it. Now I am using window own Microsofts Security Essentials and I am satisfy with its performance..

This Article is too old. Microsoft Security Essentials 2013 already launched , and according to facts Microsoft Security Essentials is not secure.

The Microsoft security program missed the certification by one point which was conducted by AV-Test, an independent IT-security lab, to test its efficiency to detect and block malware, zero-day threats, and other online threats. Other than Microsoft Security Essentials, 24 other security programs including Avast, AVG Free, Panda, Bitdefender Internet Security 2013, Kaspersky Internet Security 20130, and F-Secure among others underwent the test. Bitdefender Internet Security 2013 was declared the best security software in the category of paid licenses while AVG Free and Avast snatched 14 points out of 18.
