My very own review of Sonos One wireless speaker system. One of the best Wi-Fi speakers on the marked.
Sonos One wireless Speaker
The Sonos one wireless Speaker is a beautiful speaker that will fit in most homes. It is small, but still have a great sound and it is very easy to control using your smartphone. You can put in on a bookshelf or in the window sill. All that the speaker needs is power and a wireless connection to your Internet. If you prefer you can also connect the speaker to your network with an ethernet cable. One of the smart things with Sonos speakers is that you can combine multiple speakers in your house or office. It does not all have to be the same model of speakers. You can combine the different models and you can use play the same music on all speakers or individual music on each speaker.
Wi-fi Streaming Vs Bluetooth streaming
I have had multiple Bluetooth speakers over the years, but what I like the most with the Sonos One is that it is using wi-fi for streaming instead of Bluetooth. The advantage of Wi-Fi streaming is that I can move around in the house once I have started the music without chops in the music. I can also use my phone without it interference with the music.

Controlling the speaker
In order to control music on the Sonos one speaker, you will need to download the Sonos app to your smartphone or tablet. The Sonos app is available for both Android, iOS and PC. Another way to control the speaker is using the buttons at the top of the speaker. You can start and pause the music and turn volume op and down. You can also turn the microphone on and off. Control speaker using Google Assistant
If you have a Google device you can use your voice to control the speaker. There is a lot of command you can control your speaker with, like: “Mute the speaker” or “Turn the volume up”.

Overall verdict of the Sonos One
My overall verdict of the speaker is that it plays great, looks great and the fact that it uses Wi-Fi for streaming instead of Bluetooth is great in my opinion. The possibility to add more speakers to the system and let the play individual music in different rooms is also a great feature. The biggest issue with the Sonos One is the prize. They are quite expensive: €179. You might be able to find a bundle with two speakers at a better prize if you want to have more than just one speaker.
